Glendo State Park in eastern Wyoming is a public recreation area centered on Glendo Reservoir and the North Platte River near Glendo, extending through Platte and Converse counties. The park emerged from construction of Glendo Dam, its power plant, and the reservoir between 1954 and 1958, followed by a 1959 agreement for recreational development and administration. It is known for pairing water recreation with an extensive trail system, including 45 miles of mountain bike trails and multiple campgrounds with more than 500 campsites. The reservoir also supports fishing and boating, has produced several state record-size fish, and drew major attention during the total solar eclipse of August 21, 2017.
