Heckle Bridge
Science & Tech
Between 1891 and 1998, a 114-foot single-span steel pin-and-eyebar parallel-chord Pratt through truss bridge crossed the Casselman River at this location. The truss was fabricated and erected by the Pittsburgh (sic.) Bridge Company, and the abutments were constructed by Zigler & Long, a local masonry contractor. The bridge served as an integral part of the growth of rural Summit Township throughout the twentieth century.
