Freedom Memorial Park was dedicated on September 11, 2004, to honor all veterans, especially those who paid the supreme sacrifice, with the message that they will never be forgotten and that the home of the free exists because of the brave. The park is also associated with Post 357, whose commanders from 1946 to 2013 included Walt Woolbaugh, Harry Kunsman Sr., John Young, Art Carmen, Gordon Sinnett, Art Foote, James Swartwood, Charles Lusk, Robert Marshman, Paul Welch, Ken Marshman, William Dewey, Norm Welch, Frank Smith, Richard Brink, George Richardson, George Dutcher, John Demer, James Soller, Mike Welch, John McCarthy, Cheryl Slater, John Swavola, Darwin Whipple, Jack Bennett, Ted Plevinsky, Terry Rafferty, Richard Rood, and Bill Kienzler. It also recognizes members of the Auxiliary and the Sons of the American Legion, including George A Dutcher Jr., David Derrick, Andrew Kovitch, Dennis S Martel, Kilmer Setzer, Robert Tomlin, Donald R. Horvatt, Dale W. Jesse, Andrew Pickney Jr., George Frailey, and Justin E. Ross.
