Little Red Schoolhouse is Melbourne's oldest surviving schoolhouse, built in 1883 by John Goode at his house on the river. Both black and white students attended for five to six summer months, sat on benches, wrote on slates, and drank from a nearby well. It was bought by the South Brevard Historical Society and moved to FL Tech in 1970.
