Oakeys Brook is a small stream in Middlesex County, New Jersey, within the Lawrence Brook and Raritan River watershed. Rising in central South Brunswick, it flows through heavily developed suburban landscapes before emptying into Farrington Lake near Davidson Mill Road. Along the way it passes housing, roads, a school, and several tributaries, and its water level can rise quickly after rain because storm drainage, farm runoff, swamp drainage, and springs all feed it. Even so, the brook retains a modest wetland ecosystem supporting amphibians, reptiles, fish, birds, and crayfish, and its easy accessibility has made it part of everyday local life while also exposing it to litter and development pressure.
