Torbert Island Natural Area is an eighteen-acre protected area in Pennsylvania within Tiadaghton State Forest. It includes fourteen-acre Torbert Island and several smaller islands in Pine Creek, about five miles north of the creek’s meeting with the West Branch Susquehanna River. Uninhabited and inaccessible by road, the islands are reached by rowing from put-in facilities on Pennsylvania Route 44. The area is significant for preserving a rare example of Pennsylvania riparian forest, supporting plants such as jack-in-the-pulpit and dragon arum, along with trees including river birch and sycamore.
