For D.M. Stahlman, Faith Rock was part of a larger rock plan that he believed fulfilled a prophecy in the King James Version of Isaiah. At least three rocks, including Faith Rock, bore Isaiah 33:16: “HIS PLACE OF DEFENSE SHALL BE THE MUNITIONS OF ROCKS BREAD SHALL BE GIVEN HIM.” This verse was central to Stahlman’s vision, joining the belief that the rock sites offered sanctuary from evil forces with his reliance on the charity of the righteous for survival. He believed the dedicated rocks would provide divine protection to both his contemporaries and future generations during the persecution of the Anti-Christ’s forces. Stahlman also wrote that after his faith had once been severely tried, he went to Faith Rock for two hours and came away encouraged and fairly cheerful, and that he had been helped many other times by going to rocks that stood for truths he needed.
