On 11 June 1982, six Airmen perished while performing missile convoy duty. They included two pilots assigned to Detachment 9, 37th Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squadron, and four Security Policemen assigned to the 352nd Missile Security Squadron. Their deaths are remembered as the ultimate sacrifice made in fulfilling their commitment to peace and freedom and in serving to defend the nation.
