Burner Mountain is a West Virginia summit rising 4,295 feet, making it the state’s 56th highest peak. It probably was named for Abraham Burner, a local pioneer settler, tying the mountain to the region’s early settlement. At its base lie the Camp Bartow Historic District and the noted inn Travellers' Repose, connecting the mountain not only to scenic highland terrain but also to a preserved historic landscape shaped by frontier life and later history.
