Lake Proctor Wilderness Area is a 475-acre protected natural area in eastern Seminole County, Florida, near Geneva. Its roughly 6-mile loop trail passes through an unusual variety of habitats gathered in one preserve, including sand pine scrub, pine flatwoods, sandhill, and bayhead swamp, which support wildlife such as wood ducks, white-tailed deer, red foxes, and the Florida worm lizard. Acquired through the Seminole County Natural Lands Program established in 1990, the area reflects local commitment to conservation and natural resources. It now serves both recreation and education, drawing hikers, equestrians, mountain bikers, scout groups, and students in outdoor programs on fire, wildlife, and water quality.
