An 1821 naval carronade and the ship's capstan that were once located at this site were moved to the Cannon Beach History Center and Museum for safekeeping from continued weathering and vandalism. In 1991, the carronade at the site was replaced by an accurate duplicate made from a casting from the original carronade.
