Walnut Canyon features curved canyon walls, remarkable geological formations, and the evident former homes of ancient inhabitants. Along the trails, visitors can imagine life within the canyon while visiting actual pueblos and walking in the steps of those who came before. Conditions can be variable and extreme, with high winds any time of year, summer temperatures above 95ºF (35ºC), afternoon storms July–September, and heavy snow from fall to spring.
