Locomotive 3006 was given by the Burlington Railroad and placed at this site by local citizens in honor of the railroad’s arrival in Galesburg on Dec. 7, 1854. Built in 1930, the locomotive weighed 225 tons and traveled 2,348,267 miles in freight and passenger service.
