The 111th Regiment Pennsylvania Veteran Volunteer Infantry, commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Thomas M. Walker in Cobham's 2nd Brigade, Geary's 2nd Division, and Slocum's 12th Corps, occupied this position on the 25th day of November and, in double column on centre, charged the summit, but the enemy had retreated and no loss occurred in the engagement.
