Double Trouble State Park in Ocean County preserves the former Double Trouble Company town and the surrounding Pine Barrens landscape. Centered on Double Trouble Historic Village, the site reflects a shift from sawmills active since the mid-18th century to cranberry farming after Edward Crabbe formed the company in 1909 to market timber, millwork, and cranberries. The village includes cranberry bogs and fourteen restored late-19th- and early-20th-century buildings, including a general store, schoolhouse, workers' houses, a sawmill, and a sorting and packing house. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, the district is significant for both agriculture and industry, with Cedar Creek supporting cranberry culture and wildlife.
