Oglebay Mansion

Built by brewer George Smith in the 1840s, the mansion passed through several owners before Earl Oglebay bought the house and farm. When Oglebay died, he left the house, farm, and surrounding area to the people of Wheeling on the condition that they operate it for public recreation. The mansion became a museum in 1930.
