In the late 1870’s, two famous old trails, the Old Deadwood Trail and the Cherry Creek Indian Trail and Rosebud and all points south, crossed this spot. Sitting Bull traveled this road from Leslie, S.D. to other reservations and back. The Rosebud Trail went south.
