Gardner Mountain is an 8,898-foot peak in Washington’s Methow Mountains, within the Okanogan–Wenatchee National Forest and the highest point of the Lake Chelan-Sawtooth Wilderness. It is the second-highest summit in both the Methow Mountains and Okanogan County, and it rises steeply above nearby Wolf Creek, giving it strong local relief. Its slopes drain into tributaries of the Methow River. Named in 1891 by Guy Waring for Isabella Stewart Gardner, the peak was later officially recognized by the U.S. Board on Geographic Names. Its rugged form reflects long tectonic, volcanic, and glacial processes, and two small glacier remnants remain on its northeast slope.
