In 1807, Christopher Stone bought 787 acres of land in this area for $1575, including some of the village of Springville, and established the first settlement on this site. His son Lucius, born in 1809, was the first white child born in the Town of Concord, N.Y. Where Stone came from and where he later went remain unknown.
