St. Mark’s Episcopal Church was organized in 1832, and the church was completed in 1837. Its bell tower was removed and placed at ground level in 1944. The church houses an 1867 John G. Marklove organ, purchased in the 1920s, which was placed on the Organ Historical Society Record in 1975.
