Roberts Mound
History
2
Roberts Mound is a conical Native American archaeological site in Reily Township, Butler County, in southwestern Ohio near Auburn. Believed to date to the Woodland period, it is the only mound in the far southeastern part of the township. Unlike many nearby mounds and earthworks, it has never been excavated, so no artifacts have been recovered to identify its builders with certainty. That absence of disturbance has also left it among the best-preserved mounds in the area. Its significance was formally recognized in 1975, when it was added to the National Register of Historic Places with five other archaeological sites in Butler County.
