In 1939 A.D., Pioneer Women of Colorado honored the memory of pioneers killed in massacres by Indians: in 1864 A.D., Nathan W. Hungate, Ellen Hungate, and their children Laura V. and Florence V.; and in 1868 A.D., Henrietta Dietemann and her sons John, Louis Alma, and Joseph Bledsoe.
