The Alameda Creek Water System was recognized as a California Historic Civil Engineering Landmark in 1888, with San Francisco Section A802 in 1975. Restoration of the Sunol Water Temple started May 27, 1997, and was completed Sept. 9, 2000, in partnership with the communities of Sunol and the San Francisco Bay Area.
