The Missouri Vietnam Veterans Memorial honors those who served in the Vietnam War and those whose names are on the walls because they made the ultimate sacrifice. Its wall is divided as the country was divided, yet those who served stood in that divide and forged ahead, doing what their country asked of them. The “V” symbolizes the valor of those who served, and the red flowers symbolize the blood shed by those whose names are on the walls. It is dedicated to perpetuating appreciation for the legacy of Vietnam War veterans past and present. The memorial was made possible by the generosity of Bass Pro Shops, Legends at Big Cedar, and the PGA Champions Tour, was built by College of the Ozarks staff and students, was designed by student Austin, and was unanimously approved by the Missouri Legislature in May 2014.
