Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center is a 1,168-acre Pennsylvania state park near Wind Gap that combines environmental education, recreation, and the preservation of a nationally significant historic landscape. Nearly encircled by the park, the Jacobsburg National Historic District includes the Henry Homestead and reflects three generations of the Henry family’s gunmaking enterprise, from William Henry’s colonial-era work through the move of rifle production to Jacobsburg in 1792 and its expansion during the War of 1812. The park also protects Henry’s Woods, the Lehigh Valley’s only remaining old-growth forest, while offering trails, trout fishing, seasonal hunting, and heritage programs centered on longrifle-making and early crafts.
