Old Brown Marsh Presbyterian Church was organized prior to 1756 by Scottish settlers. The present building, the third on the site, was constructed in 1818, and the first two buildings were of logs. It also served for secular education until 1848. Early ministers included H. McAden, Jas. Hall, S. Stanford, and C. Lindsay. It was entered on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior on September 2, 1975.
