When The New Albany Company gifted this land to the City of New Albany, the goal was to establish a park adjacent to the Learning Community Campus. The impact of that gift, however, grew well beyond its original intention, as Rose Run became a far-reaching asset that benefitted the entire community. New Albany City Council funded improvements to the park in the late 1990s. In 2018, with an investment of $17 million by the City of New Albany, Rose Run emerged as a vital corridor that connects the village center and Market Street District with the New Albany school campus and the New Albany Library. Designed as a modern-day promenade, Rose Run seamlessly accommodates pedestrians, cyclists and automobiles to create a welcoming destination for residents and visitors to enjoy.
