The town hall served elected officials as a meeting place and provided for the needs of the area. Built in 1910 for around $300.00, it was also used by the Sanford police department as an office in the late 1960's and 1970's. Town hall meetings were eventually moved to the old McNett School Building on West River road, and the building then sat unused until it was moved from its location on Center Street in Sanford to the museum grounds in 1983.
