Built in 1732 by Cornelius Van Wyck in Fishkill, New York, this Dutch Colonial house became the headquarters of the Fishkill Supply Depot during the American Revolutionary War after being requisitioned by the Continental Army. Ordered into service in 1775, the depot was the principal logistical center in the northern theater, with a large encampment and facilities supporting thousands. George Washington and other leading Revolutionary figures passed through, while courts-martial, quartermaster work, and even the New York Packet press operated here. The surrounding grounds, where hundreds died during the war, are now recognized as the largest identified burial ground of American Revolutionary War soldiers in the United States.
