Orange is a town and the county seat of Orange County, Virginia, United States. The population was 4,880 at the 2020 census, representing a 3.4% increase since the 2010 census. Orange is 28 mi northeast of Charlottesville, 88 mi southwest of Washington, D.C., and 4 mi east of Founding Father and fourth U.S. president James Madison's plantation of Montpelier.
