Roy and Clara Miller created Miller's Park as an oasis for weary travelers on the west edge of town. The park opened in 1921, and sculpture construction began in 1932. The site was much loved by the people of Lucas. In 1969, it was sold to settle the estate, and the sculptures were moved to Hays, Kansas. In 2013, the sculptures returned to Lucas as a gift of Henry Schwaller IV and Kohler Foundation, Inc.
