Wilson State Park lies in central Kansas on the south shore of Wilson Lake, about ten miles north of the city of Wilson. At the reservoir’s eastern end, the park covers 945 acres along a 9,000-acre lake and is split by the lake’s southeastern arm into the Hell Creek and Otoe sections. Hell Creek has a marina, and both sections offer the lake’s main recreation facilities, including hiking trails, swimming beaches, boat ramps, and campgrounds. As one of the principal access points to Wilson Lake, the park serves day visitors, boaters, and campers as a public outdoor recreation area along the shoreline.
