Fort George Island Cultural State Park preserves part of a northeastern Jacksonville island landscape shaped by centuries of human activity, from Indigenous settlement and a nearby Timucua center to the Spanish mission era and early twentieth-century resort development. Near the site of San Juan del Puerto, the park reflects both Native American life and early colonial contact. Its most notable structure, the Ribault Inn Club, was built in 1928 as a winter resort and now serves visitors to Kingsley Plantation and Fort George Island. Today the park combines that layered history with recreation, including trails, boating, paddling, fishing, and beach access.
