R. B. Winter State Park is a 695-acre Pennsylvania park in Hartley Township, surrounded by Bald Eagle State Forest, with Halfway Lake at its center. Originally called Halfway Dam State Park, it was renamed on May 23, 1957, for state forester Raymond Burrows Winter, who helped establish it and worked in the park and nearby forest for 45 years. The spring-fed lake is held by a hand-laid native sandstone dam associated with the Civilian Conservation Corps, and its cold water supports swimming and trout fishing. The park also includes the 39-acre Rapid Run Natural Area, valued for its rare forest community, wildlife, and woodland little changed since logging ended in 1850.
