Face Rock State Scenic Viewpoint is a small state park in Bandon on Oregon’s southern coast near Coos Bay, overlooking a striking shoreline of sea stacks, rocks, and tidal flats. Its offshore waters are part of the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge, and the area attracts more than 300 bird species, making it an important place for coastal wildlife viewing. The park takes its name from Face Rock, an offshore formation said to resemble a human face and linked to a Native American legend. Developed from land given in 1934 and expanded in 1961, it now offers easy beach access and visitor amenities.
