Usher Rousch, born October 13, 1891, built his first airplane in 1909 and from 1913 to 1927 learned to fly, barnstormed, and did stunt flying. He served as a pilot and instructor for Interstate Airline and American Airways from 1928 to 1930 and for American Airlines from 1930 to 1939. In 1931 he helped organize the Air Line Pilots Association and was its secretary from 1934 to 1939, and he was a captain on American Airlines from 1930 to 1931. From 1939 to 1941 he flew with TACA in Central America. Charles Rousch, born March 4, 1896, learned to fly in World War I, owned his own plane in 1922, and during 1922 to 1924 built two Jennys with Berl Rousch. They barnstormed, operated their own Flying Circus, performed parachute jumps, and gave exhibition flights. In 1929 Charles became an instructor and a captain for Universal Airlines and also established new routes for that airline, and in 1931 he was a pilot for Northwest Airlines. Berl Rousch, born October 2, 1900, learned to fly in 1922, helped Charles build two planes in 1923 to 1924, and was active with the Flying Circus and in barnstorming. From this field the three brothers pioneered in aviation, and the original hangar still stands at the north end of the field.
