Forevertron, in Sumpter, Wisconsin, is a monumental scrap-metal sculpture created by Tom Every, a demolition expert born in nearby Brooklyn, Wisconsin. Built in the 1980s and regarded as the world’s second-largest scrap-metal sculpture, it rises 50 feet, spans 120 feet, and weighs about 300 tons. Every assembled it from antique machinery and industrial salvage, including Edison dynamos, power-plant components, Badger Army Ammunition Plant scrap, and the Apollo 11 decontamination chamber, while preserving many original forms. Designed in movable sections, it anchors Dr. Evermor’s Art Park and its elaborate fictional world, making it one of Wisconsin’s most distinctive works of large-scale visionary art.
