Warren Island State Park is a seventy-acre state-owned island park in Penobscot Bay, in Islesboro on the Maine coast. About half a mile from Islesboro Island and roughly three miles offshore from Lincolnville, it became part of Maine’s state park system in 1958 when the state acquired it for one dollar. Reached by private boat, the island has a pier, hiking trails, campsites, and open-faced shelters for overnight stays. Its significance lies in offering a compact, offshore public recreation area with a quieter, more secluded camping experience than mainland parks, centered on shoreline access, short hikes, and protected island surroundings.
