THE STORY

The Hyde Log Cabin was built in 1783 by Jedediah Hyde, Jun., a Revolutionary soldier and surveyor of these islands. It is the oldest original log cabin now standing in Vermont. The state acquired it, restored it, and opened it in 1956.
