Joe McKamie alerted the Fontana Historical Society about Camp. Ora Scott provided an interest free loan of $10,000, and the City of Fontana gave a down payment of $3,000 to save the house. The society acquired ownership title to the house on November 22, 1978. Restoration was performed through donations and federal block grants from 1977 to 1980.
