The people of St. Paris and Johnson Township honored those who died in World War II—Robert Niece, Herman Richeson, Ralph M. Rush, Robert K. Cretors, Karl Leasure, Garner Mott, and Eldon D. Peacock—and all who served, expressing honor, respect, and gratitude for sacrifices that were seen as helping assure freedom of speech, freedom of want, freedom of fear, and freedom of worship, in a dedication held on the Eleventh Day of November 1946.
