Ruby Mountain stands in the Adirondack Mountains of New York, in the town of Indian Lake, east-southeast of the hamlet of Indian Lake. It is significant for the garnet mine on its slopes, owned by Barton Mines since 1982, which connects the mountain to the region's long mining history as well as to the rugged landscape of the Adirondacks.
