The F-84F "Thunderstreak," manufactured by Republic Aircraft Corp, had a span of 33 feet 7 inches, a length of 43 feet 5 inches, a height of 15 feet 0 inches, and a maximum weight of 27,000 pounds. It was armed with six .50 caliber machine guns and could carry several ordnance arrangements, including 32 5-inch rockets, 6,000 pounds of bombs, 2 11.5-inch or 16 5-inch or 24 5-inch rockets, or 2 1000-pound bombs and 18 5-inch rockets. Powered by one Wright J65-W-3 engine with 7,200 pounds of thrust, it had a maximum speed of 685 miles per hour, a cruising speed of 535 miles per hour, a range of 1,000 miles, a service ceiling of 44,450 feet, and an extended range of 1,900 miles using two external fuel stations. The 121st TFW flew it from 1957 to 1962, with an active duty tour from October 1961 to August 1962.
