Elk Mountain is a 11,424-foot summit in the Rabbit Ears Range of the Rocky Mountains in north-central Colorado. Located in Arapaho National Forest, it lies about 12.9 miles northwest by west of Granby in Grand County. The peak is recognized as a prominent summit, meaning it rises distinctly above the surrounding terrain. Set within a high, forested part of the Rabbit Ears Range, it is part of the public lands that make up the national forest.
