Purchased in 1883 from the Bell Manufacturing Co. of Fredericktown, Ohio, this bell was cast by Cummings and Kosack, weighed 350 pounds, and cost $17.60. It rang from the belfry of the old school house until that building was torn down in 1948. A memorial poem recalls that though the lessons are ended, the echoes of the bell seem to linger in the treetops and whisper, “All is well.”
