The Old North Yakima Historic District was created and placed on the National Register on May 2, 1986, by the National Park Service, U.S. Department of Interior, and the Old City Hall is a contributing member. Built in 1889 by A. F. Switzer for $5,990.00, Yakima’s Old City Hall housed North Yakima’s first Fire and Police Station and is one of Yakima’s oldest original structures.
