This residence likely dates to the 1860s. James Still, son of Wakarusa Mission founder Abraham Still, who served the local Shawnee Indians in the 1850s, had his medical office here. In addition to being a doctor, James Still was also a minister, teacher, merchant, and lawyer. His brother Andrew Still was a pioneer in the field of osteopathy. James Still's son Summerfield Still and his grandson George were also medical doctors in the Eudora area.
