On the border of Lenox and Stockbridge, Massachusetts, the Frelinghuysen Morris House and Studio preserves the home, studio, and artistic world of American abstract artists George L.K. Morris and Suzy Frelinghuysen. Developed from part of the former Brookhurst estate, the property includes surviving outbuildings from an 1885 country place, a Bauhaus-style Modernist studio completed in 1930, and a 1941 house considered an early example of Mid-Century Modern architecture. Its interiors remain largely intact, with furnishings, cubist frescoes, and works by Morris, Frelinghuysen, and major European modernists, offering a rare view of how American abstract artists lived with art.
