Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary in Lenox, Massachusetts, is a 1,405-acre protected landscape of woods, trails, and water, including a large pond on Yokun Brook and about 7 miles of walking routes. Established in 1929 by members of the Lenox Garden Club as the Pleasant Valley Bird and Wildflower Sanctuary, it was first directed by Maurice Broun and became part of Mass Audubon in 1950. The sanctuary includes the Overbrook Trail to the summit of Lenox Mountain and serves both as protected habitat and as a center for environmental education, community events, and programs for all ages in the Berkshires.
