Snow Mountain East is the highest point of Snow Mountain in northern California, within the Snow Mountain Wilderness of Mendocino National Forest, and the highest point in both Colusa and Lake counties. A nearby subsidiary summit, Snow Mountain West, stands 0.58 miles to the southwest at 7,043 feet. The mountain lends its name to the surrounding wilderness area. Its upper slopes receive winter snowfall that can last into June, while abundant sunlight supports evergreen vegetation. Visible on clear days from distant peaks and from the Central Valley, Snow Mountain is a noted hiking and camping destination whose high summit and broad views make it a prominent landmark in the Coast Ranges.
